Developing an Ambitious Reading Culture (Cancelled)
This course will support schools in developing a reading culture that:
believes every child can learn to read with the right teaching and support;
builds time for all children to read independently, read aloud and be read to during the school day;
places reading and books at the centre of the curriculum;
develops a coherent whole-school strategy for promoting reading for pleasure.
Supporting transition in English for autumn term 2020
This virtual course will introduce teachers to the HIAS Step Up to Catch Up curriculum guidance materials, aimed at supporting practitioners to accelerate progress and minimise learning loss in English caused by the Covid-19 lockdown. Teachers will receive the support materials for their phase (KS1, LKS2, UKS2) as part of the course.
