To support practitioners in developing their understanding of the observation, assessment and planning cycle and to implement this effectively in their day to day practice. Cost: Out of County: £180; Schools/Settings £120 Please see the attached Canellation policy The course is aimed at all Early Years practitioners wishing to gain a greater understanding of the observation, assessment and planning cycle. The course is relevant for practitioners from preschools, day nurseries, nursery schools and reception and nursery classes in schools.

NVR stands for Non-Violent Resistance, an evidence-based approach to managing serious behaviour problems such as controlling and self-destructive behaviour, truanting and absconding, aggression and violence, and risk-taking. NVR is becoming increasingly popular in the UK as an effective alternative to more traditional behavioural approaches. This session will introduce participants to the principles of NVR, present case studies of work done in partnership with schools, and present opportunities for further training for school staff to embed this approach in schools.
