Schools can make 1 free booking for 2 TAs for this session. Each session is repeated three times – choose the date that suits you. Before each session TAs will be set short pre-course learning activities to enhance the learning experience and our time together. Pre-learning tasks will be sent a week in advance of the training and will involve reading or watching pre-recorded power points from the OCC Bitesize Training catalogue and/or short videos.

Code: OPL/21/174 What's Difficult about Maths: Assessment and Tailoring Intervention (Cancelled)

This course will give you an understanding of what lies behind maths difficulties with a focus on practical solutions to support children and young people. Based on emerging research, the course will equip teachers to identify the factors causing maths difficulties for a child or young person and then to tailor interventions to meet their needs. The course is led by the educational psychology service and involves 1 day face to face training and 3 online twilight workshops. The three online workshops are to support planning and evaluation of interventions through discussion and problem-solving. Attendance at all 3 is recommended.
