To help Early Years providers to identify emerging concerns for children and families
To understand and be able to implement an assessment of these concerns and to co-ordinate support for the whole family
Teaching reading – Early interventions to support progress in reading
This course will support teachers and subjects in supporting children to make rapid progress from clearly defined starting points across the primary range. We will explore what makes an effective reader and the strategies children use to both decode and understand texts. We will then examine key areas to notice in reading and the diagnostic approaches which can be used to inform responsive planning, as well as practical classroom approaches to facilitate progress on the back of this ongoing assessment.
