Pre-course Information

This course will clarify the statutory requirements for KS2 and moderation. It will provide teachers with an opportunity to consolidate their understanding of standards and explore the KS2 SATs. The tutor is the KS2 moderation manager and will be able to discuss any queries with regard to KS2 moderation.

During this half day course, teachers will understand their statutory requirements for end of Year 6 assessment.

Details about the statutory moderation process will be explained including the changes for the 2017-18 moderation cycle, dates / processes for data submission and the moderation visits.

Teachers will consider  what will be needed to secure a judgment. They will look at exemplification of work and use this to standardise  in reading, writing and maths.

Requirements for pupils working below the expected standard will be clarified.

Teachers will explore implications from the KS2 SATs tests.

This course will be run by the Essex KS2 moderation manager who will be able to answer questions about all aspects of assessment at KS2.
