Course aim
This course is for governors who have taken on the role of lead governor for Special
Educational needs.
Every Governing body must hold its school to account for how well it provides for
pupils who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
The SEN Governor is responsible for ensuring that the governing body has
appropriate policies and practice in place. This training is free to governors who's school subscribe to Governor Training, otherwise the cost is £150 per governor

This course will cover:



  • Legal requirements

  • The role of the SENCo

  • Monitoring and evaluating SEN practice – questions a governor might ask

  • The inclusive curriculum.
